We completed the woodkiln in March, with its first firing in April 2019.

This bowl sits on my kitchen bench, and is a favourite. Fired in the woodkiln at Waiohiki over a year ago, shino on stoneware with additions.
Copper red glaze on stoneware clay with sand and ricebubbles. The shape inspired by limpet shells seen on the beach in Porirua.
Work from last firing, using a dark clay with shino glaze.

Latest work from kiln, coffee jug with tiny beakers for that espresso moment. Stoneware and beach sand.
Inspired by Bill's wire bucket. An old rusted paint tin with number 8 wire handle. Shino with sand and wire handles.
New work from Damage and Repair series. Porcelain with beach sand, cut then stapled while wet, copper red glaze.
New vases, porcelain with shingle from the beach, collected at low tide.
"Conversations". Finalist in Portage Ceramic Awards 2016, exhibited at Te Uru, Auckland. Terracotta and porcelain with beach shingle, reduction fired with porcelain pieces woodfired, no glaze.
"Drawing Circles and Lines". Exhibited in "East" at Hastings City Art Gallery 2016-17. Porcelain with sand, shino glaze.
